How to Update Certbot
The TLS-SNI-01 validation is reaching end-of-life and this is forcing us to update our ACME clients to use an alternative validation method (either HTTP-01, DNS-01 or TLS-ALPN-01).
Not doing so, our certificate renewals will break and existing certificates will start to expire.
In order to handle this, here’s everything you need to do in order to update your Certbot client to a newer version:
wget https://dl.eff.org/certbot-auto && \ chmod a+x ./certbot-auto && \ ./certbot-auto
That’s it! After the update your certificates will also be renewed.
I hope this helped! Let me know in the comments below whether you’ve experienced any difficulties during this process.
